The material
What is Sentio?
Sentio is a zero silica renewable surface for kitchen, bathroom and laundry benchtops, supplied by Australian-owned CASF. It comes in 20mm sheets in 15 standard colours, with custom colours and sizes from a 30-sheet order, and is backed by a 10-year warranty.
Its surface can be renewed on site, so benchtops are refreshed rather than replaced. Explore the 15 Sentio colours.
Is Sentio a silica-free alternative to engineered stone?
Yes. Sentio contains zero silica, so there is no silica dust exposure when it is cut, routed or finished. It can be fabricated in-house with standard woodworking tools and CNC machinery. Handling guidance is in the Sentio Safety Data Sheet (PDF).
What makes Sentio a renewable surface?
Sentio is renewable because its surface can be restored to its original finish on site. Benchtops can be refreshed and kept in service instead of being removed and replaced. Keeping an offcut, such as the sink cut-out, helps with future repairs.
How do you clean and maintain a Sentio benchtop?
Clean Sentio with a damp microfibre cloth or sponge and soapy water, then rinse and towel dry to prevent water marks. For stubborn marks, use a mild cream cleanser such as Jif Cream or Gumption with a damp cloth, then rinse. Use a chopping board, protect the surface from hot cookware and avoid harsh chemicals.
Read the Care and Maintenance Guide (PDF) or watch the Sentio care videos.
Is Sentio heat resistant?
Sentio offers heat resistance for everyday use, but hot cookware and appliances should not be placed directly on the surface. Always use a trivet or heat pad with rubber feet, and follow the care guidance around cooktops. Heat damage is not covered by the warranty. See the Care and Maintenance Guide (PDF) and Technical Data Sheet (PDF).
Is Sentio non-combustible?
No. Sentio is not classified as a non-combustible material and should not be used where a non-combustible surface is required. Before installing Sentio near a cooktop, check the appliance manufacturer’s installation instructions and required clearances.
What does the Sentio warranty cover?
Sentio carries a 10-year warranty from the date of purchase that covers manufacturing defects in the material. If a defect is found, CASF will repair or replace the material in line with the warranty terms. Fabrication, installation, labour, heat damage, misuse and improper care are not covered. Read the Sentio Warranty Guide (PDF).
Certifications and documents
What certifications does Sentio hold?
Sentio holds GREENGUARD Gold certification from UL Solutions (certificate 335609-420) and a Declare Label from the International Living Future Institute (CSF-0001) that lists it as LBC Red List Free.
GREENGUARD Gold sets strict limits on chemical emissions into indoor air, including criteria for schools and healthcare facilities. The Declare Label discloses product ingredients and end-of-life options. View the GREENGUARD Gold Certificate (PDF) and Declare Label (PDF).
Is Sentio Red List Free?
Yes. Sentio’s Declare Label lists it as LBC Red List Free, meeting the Living Building Challenge Red List criteria. The label also lists a life expectancy of 25+ years and identifies Sentio as salvageable, reusable and 100% recyclable at end of life. View the Sentio Declare Label (PDF).
How can I verify Sentio’s certifications?
Search certificate number 335609-420 on UL SPOT for GREENGUARD Gold, or search Sentio or label CSF-0001 in the Declare database. Both databases show current certification status.
Where can I download Sentio technical documents?
All Sentio technical documents are free to download for specifications, tender submissions and workshop use:

Can Sentio contribute to green building and wellness ratings?
Sentio’s GREENGUARD Gold certification and Red List Free Declare Label help project teams assess the material against sustainability and indoor air quality requirements. Rating tool requirements vary, so confirm credit eligibility with your project’s sustainability consultant. View the GREENGUARD Gold Certificate (PDF) and Declare Label (PDF).
What is the life expectancy of Sentio?
Sentio’s Declare Label lists a life expectancy of 25+ years. Its renewable surface can be refreshed on site, keeping benchtops in service for longer, and it is identified as salvageable, reusable and 100% recyclable at end of life. See the Declare Label (PDF).
Which projects is Sentio suited to?
Sentio suits residential and multi-residential projects, including apartments, build-to-rent developments, student accommodation, affordable housing and individual homes. Standard and custom colours create a consistent look across multiple units, in kitchens, bathrooms and laundries.
How does the Sentio custom colour process work?
Sentio custom colours are developed to a project brief from a 30-sheet order, in four stages:
- Brief. Share a Pantone reference, mood board or physical material sample, with the project quantity and sheet requirements.
- Development. CASF develops a colour sample to match the brief.
- Approval. You review and approve the sample before production begins.
- Production. The full order is manufactured in the approved colour, in standard 3200 × 650 × 20mm sheets or custom sheet sizes within the same 30-sheet order.
Custom colour orders are made to order and are not returnable. Start a colour brief.
Can Sentio sheets be made to custom sizes?
Yes. Custom Sentio sheet sizes are available from a 30-sheet order. Sizing sheets to the benchtop layout reduces offcut waste, particularly on multi-residential projects, and custom sizes can be combined with custom colours in the same order.
Can Sentio be designed with waterfall ends?
Yes. Sentio can be detailed with matching waterfall ends for a continuous line from benchtop to floor. On veined colours, plan how the veining runs across the top and down the end. Waterfall ends are heavy, so detail adequate support to keep the end secure over time.
For cabinet makers and fabricators
Can Sentio be fabricated in my workshop?
Yes. Sentio is made for in-house fabrication and can be cut, routed and finished with standard woodworking tools and CNC machinery. Bringing benchtops in-house gives you control over lead times, finish quality and project margins, with zero silica in the workshop.
Is Sentio fabrication training available?
Yes. CASF provides Sentio fabrication training for workshops new to the material and for cabinet makers bringing more benchtop work in-house. Book fabrication training.
What are the join and clearance requirements for Sentio benchtops?
Position joins at least 150mm from cooktop cut-outs and dishwasher installations, and never directly above a dishwasher or through a sink or cooktop cut-out. Allow a minimum 2mm expansion gap to walls and cabinets.
Apply heat tape to cooktop cut-outs and keep any steel support tube at least 50mm from the cut-out edge. Check the distance between cabinets is the same at the front and back so benchtops join cleanly.
What cabinet support does a Sentio benchtop need?
Base cabinets must be square, level and securely fixed to the rear wall and adjacent cabinets, with every leg in full contact with the floor before and after installation. Cabinets and drawer boxes 800mm or wider, including corner cabinets, need vertical front rails. Dishwasher voids need front and rear (wall cleat) support rails.
If front rails can’t be inverted, fit 42 × 18mm hardwood rails vertically behind or under the flat rail, or embed 25 × 25 × 2mm square hollow section steel behind or under it, level with the cabinet walls. Over a side-by-side washer and dryer, add a centre divider panel at cabinet height for the rails to sit on.
Colours and sizes
How many Sentio colours are available?
Sentio is available in 15 standard colours across three collections: Timeless, Luxe and Endurance. The range covers clean whites, soft neutrals, concrete-inspired tones and marble-inspired veining, and all 15 colours are held ex stock in both standard sheet sizes. Explore the Sentio colours.
How do I order a Sentio sample?
Request a Sentio sample using the form at the bottom of the Colours page. A physical sample shows the colour, pattern and finish alongside cabinetry, flooring and other materials. Veined colours vary naturally across a sheet, so a sample shows the pattern’s character rather than an exact match.
What are the standard Sentio sheet sizes?
Sentio is stocked in two standard sheet sizes: 3200 × 650 × 20mm and 3200 × 930 × 20mm. The 650mm width suits standard kitchen benchtops, while the 930mm sheet suits islands and deeper benchtops. Both sizes are available in all 15 colours.
